How to Apply for Authentication

Documents issued in Tanzania to be used in China should be authenticated by the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania before they are sent to China.

 

A. Procedures are as follows:

a. Send documents issued in Tanzania, such as Affidavit, Declaration, Power of Attorney, etc. to be notarized first by a local Notary Public and then to be authenticated by Tanzania Ministry of   Foreign  Affairs.

b. Send documents issued by Tanzania government, such as Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, No Criminal Record to be authenticated directly by Tanzania Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

c. Send the documents authenticated by Tanzania  Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be authenticated by Chinese Embassy in Tanzania.

 

B. Notice

a. One certificate contains one document only. One certificate contains several documents will not be accepted for authentication.

b. Documents issued in China, such as Passport, Registration of Company will not accepted for authentication.

c. Passports issued by other country should be authenticated by the Embassy of concerned country in Tanzania first and then to be authenticated by Chinese Embassy in Tanzania.

d. Application will not be accepted if the contents of document are against Chinese laws.

e. The Chinese Embassy authenticates only the officials' signature and the seal of Tanzania Ministry of Foreign Affairs and will not responsible for the contents of the documents.

f. Documents authenticated by Tanzania Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Embassy should be in its original shape. Applicants should not take apart the original documents (notarized or authenticated) or stitch some other pages to the original documents, and should bear all responsibility aroused.

 

C. Requirements:

a. One completely filled out application form.

b. Original and copy of the document to be authenticated

c. Original and copy of passport or IC of the applicant. If the application is submitted by agent, copy of the owner of the document, original and copy of passport or IC of the agent are required.d. Other documents required by the embassy.

 

D. Pickup and Fees:

(1) Regular collection: collecting documents on the 4th workday after application.

For Chinese citizen:

Legalization over civil affairs costs 15,000 TSH each, over business affairs costs 30,000 TSH each.

For non-Chinese citizen:

Legalization over civil affairs costs 50,000 TSH each, over business affairs costs 100,000 TSH each.

Express collection: collecting documents on the 2nd workday after application.

For Chinese citizen:

Legalization over civil affairs costs 65,000 TSH each, over business affairs costs 80,000 TSH each.

For non-Chinese citizen:

Legalization over civil affairs costs 100,000 TSH each, over business affairs costs 150,000 TSH each.
