The Handover Ceremony of 70 Laptop Computers Donated by the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China to the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania Held in Dodoma

On June 25th, the handover ceremony of 70 laptop computers donated by the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (NPC) to the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania was held in the National Assembly Building, Dodoma. H.E. Wang Ke, Ambassador of China to Tanzania, Hon. Job Y. Ndugai, Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Tulia Ackson, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Mussa Zungu, the Chairman of Foreign, Defense and Security Committee of the National Assembly and several MPs attended the ceremony.

The donation was announced during the visit by Mr. Cai Dafeng, Vice Chairman of Standing Committee of the Chinese NPC in November, 2018. During her remarks, Amb. Wang Ke said that the 70 laptop computers demonstrate the NPC's firm support to the capacity building of the National Assembly of Tanzania. The Ambassador reiterated that the Chinese side will continue to provide support to the government and parliament of Tanzania within its capacity.

 

Speaker Ndugai expressed his sincere appreciation for generous donation by the National People's Congress of China and emphasized that exchanges between the two parliaments have always been an important part of Tanzania-China friendship. The National Assembly of Tanzania is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the National People's Congress of China and jointly push forward the friendly relations between Tanzania and China to a new level.

During her remarks, Deputy Speaker Ackson said the donation will greatly promote the electronization and modernization of the National Assembly to realize the goal of building an efficient parliament.
