  • Disaster area: around 100,000 square kilometers
  • The death toll: 68,858
  • Missing:18,618
  • Survivors pulled out from the rubble: 6,541
  • The number of injured: 366,586
  • People rescued and transferred: 15.147 million
  • Aftershocks: over 9,300. By 30 May, 192 measuring 4 or higher on the Richter scale. The biggest was magnitude 6.4
  • People staying in government shelters: over 5.0 million
  • Houses collapsed: 5.4619 million
  • Farmland damaged: 33,333 hectares, including more than 10,000 hectares of wheat and rice and more than 20,000 hectares of vegetables
  • Estimated economic damage: over 20 billion U.S. dollars
  • Relief fund earmarked by the Government: 22.417 billion yuan (3.225 billion U. S. dollars)
  • Donations of domestic and overseas: 39.924 billion yuan (5.745 billion U.S. dollars)
